A Clear Strategic Plan Plays a Critical Role in Shaping the Future Success of your Business
Done well, as strategic plan will no only set clear goals and objectives, it will also result in a plan that focuses on what’s important to move your business from where it is to where your want it to be.
This is where we are different. We understand that agreeing on the vision and goals for a business is not enough. It is important to also identify the actions required to achieve them.
Our unique approach to Strategy Development has been developed over many years to attain consensus about the future direction of your organisation, as well as creating a strategic plan that will move your organisation from where is it to where you want it to be.
We work with the key people in your business to identify and agree on its goals and aspirations, as well as how you are going to achieve them.
Three Key Elements of a Successful Strategic Plan
Where You Want To Be
If you don’t know where you are going, how will you ever get there? Having a clear understanding about where you want your organisation to be and what you want it to look like in the future (3 years and more) is a critical part of the success of your business. A strong set of goals, supported by clear purpose and values helps to ensure that people pull in the same direction. Our process has been designed to encourage people to contribute their ideas and to create a consensus about the future direction of the organisation.
Were You Are Now
Once you have a clear understanding of your goals and vision, it important to understand where your business currently is in relation to your vision for its future. This will help you to understand what resources you have that will help you to achieve your goals. It will also identify the skill gaps that need to be filled, as well as issues and challenges that need to be overcome in order to be successful. Our process enables us to gain a clear and unfiltered picture of your organisation as it is today.
Bridging The Gap
Creating a plan to bridge the gap between where your organisation is today and where you want it to be is one of the most important elements of your strategy creation process. Missing this step is the main reason for the failure of strategic interventions. This is why creating strategic/business plans that are specifically designed to achieve your goals is an integral part of our strategy creation process. This means that we are invested in helping you achieve your goals, not just creating them.
Our Strategy Creation Framework
People – their knowledge and opinions – are a critical part of the strategy making process. As a result, we use a highly participative approach to building strategy to ensure that the various different views people have of the future are captured and considered.
The diagram shows a representation of the approach that we use to create and implement business strategy. This is a fluid process that has been developed to manage all of the aspects of strategy development. Here, emphasis is placed on idea generation and structuring in a ‘safe’ environment which encourages participation from everyone involved.
We utilise a number of decision support tools, principally causal mapping, to gather, capture and analyse the strategic information gathered through the Strategy Making process.
Our process can encompass all aspects of strategy making, from initial idea generation through the development of portfolios of strategic options down to the management of individual projects.
Gaining consensus is therefore important both to the strategy development and its subsequent implementation.
